JCW Acoustic Supplies have installed 35 of our Reflecta sound absorbing panels to improve sound quality within the college sports hall.
The college of Brighton is one of Britain’s leading schools. Named UK Independent School of the Year 2013-14 at the Independent Schools Awards. The college Educates boys and girls aged 3 to 18 years, Brighton College, together with its prep and pre-prep schools, is wonderfully situated at the heart of Brighton’s Kemptown, just a short walk from the sea yet only minutes away from the beauty of the South Downs National Park.
The school contacted JCW as it was experiencing problems with noise echo and reverberation in its 5 metre high sports hall and after visiting the site, we realised that our Reflecta sound absorbing wall panels would be the perfect solution to this problem due to their excellent absorption performance. The panels reduced both noise and reverberation throughout the hall making the area far more pleasant environment and ensuring that teachers and pupils can communicate effectively.
The sound absorbing panels measuring 1500mm x 1200mm x 40mm are ideal for absorbing noise and echo caused by the gathering and conversations of many groups I.e School Assembly’s, lunchtime and PE lessons.
The staff at the school included pupils at the design stage of the project by taking a vote to decide on the colours schemes to be used on the sound absorbing panels. The end result was a mixture of vibrant multi-coloured panels which brighten up the hall as well as improving sound quality by removing unwanted noise. The installation of the sound absorbing panels took our 2-man team 3 days to complete.
The panels can be bespoke to your colour scheme and tailored to your decor. In this case the pupils of the school voted for the colours Solano (Orange) Belize (Green) Ocean (Blue) and Carron (Red) to be aligned in multi-coloured strips. Allowing the hall to be colourful whilst absorbing unwanted noise.
