The Lady Bay Scouts is a community group based in Lady Bay, West Bridgford. For over 90 years, they have been offering young people aged 6 to 14 a place to learn, develop, and enjoy through a range of fun activities and games. The group contacted JCW needing our soundproofing solutions and installation services for their hall

What Acoustic Solutions Were required?

Lady Bay recently rebuilt their hall from concrete panelled prefab to brick, the new facilities are much appreciated by the Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts, as well as hall hirers. However, they were concerned about echo during games, and they were looking to install some acoustic panels without deadening the sound of the hall too much.

Our Soundproofing Solutions

Our treatments included the installation of our Reflecta sound panels for walls and ceilings. We installed 20 of these panels to significantly reduce the amount of reverberation in the hall.

The Result

Since our installation of the Reflecta sound panels, the echo and reverberation within the hall has significantly been reduced. This has allowed the Scouts groups and hires to enjoy the newly refurbished hall without the concern of reverberation. Before our treatment, the overall reverberation time was 2.6 seconds, and after our treatment, it was significantly reduced to 1.2 seconds. This shows an overall reduction in reverberation time by 1.4 seconds.
